Holistic Nutrition & Lifestyle Support for Sensitive Families
Tamara, a Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner (ROHP) & Sleep Consultant,
provides personalized, evidence -based guidance for sensitive children and their families. Using orthomolecular nutrition principles, Tamara identifies and addresses barriers in the body that may affect digestion, nutrient absorption, sleep, nervous system regulation, and overall wellness. Her approach integrates nutrition, supplementation, sleep science, nervous system regulation, lifestyle strategies, and family routines to support the whole family.
What does “orthomolecular” mean?
Orthomolecular nutrition is an approach that focuses on providing the body with the exact nutrients it needs, in the right amounts, to function optimally. It uses assessments and targeted supplementation to address specific nutrient gaps or imbalances, supporting the body at a cellular and biochemical level while also providing food and lifestyle recommendations. Please note for children and adults, Tamara does focus on a food first approach.
Why Nutrition Matters
Certain nutrients—like (but not limited to) magnesium, B vitamins, zinc, iron, omega-3 fatty acids, and amino acids—play a crucial role in the nervous system. They help support mood, focus, sleep, digestion, energy, appetite and more. When these nutrients are lacking or not properly absorbed, children may experience:
Difficulty falling or staying asleep
Over-sensitivity to sound, light, or transitions
Mood swings, irritability, or low energy
Challenges with focus, regulation, and daily routines
Struggles with eating
Poor sleep and stress can increase nutrient needs and affect absorption, while nutrient gaps can make sleep and nervous system regulation more challenging. This is why working foundationally with the child’s nutrition and overall body function is important. By deeply supporting the body, children can better regulate their nervous system, sleep more soundly, apply techniques learned in professional treatment sessions and thrive in daily routines.
Sleep Support Philosophy
Tamara’s sleep guidance is non-behavioral, focusing on identifying the root cause of the sleep disturbance, removing barriers, supporting routines, nervous system regulation, connection, sleep science and family rhythms. It:
Does not include behavioral sleep training, cry-it-out methods, or separation-based techniques.
Is fully integrated with nutrition, supplementation, food recommendations and lifestyle guidance.
Helps create calm, predictable nights without stress to support the sensitive child’s nervous system.
